What would you name then? Perhaps Firefly could have beaten it, but it didn't last long enough. I stand by my comment. It's not flawless, but seasons 2-4 were amazing.

I liked DS9 more. BSG was in the running for my personal SciFi Series Of The Year, All Years, until season 2 ended and the show went to shit.

The DS9 dominion seasons are quite good - the best of Star Trek IMHO. So I can sympathize with that opinion, but I still like B5 more.

It just so happens that I watched B5 first; sometimes when I watch DS9 I will see something and think OMG that's ripped off of B5! (or vice versa, I don't check episode dates or anything)

What we need is something new. Honor Harrington would be epic.

The space battles and such would but some of the politics would get old quick. Same with the personal stuff. I would watch and enjoy it overall if they stuck close to the books.

I don't think Star Trek ever figured out that space has three dimensions.

2.5 was the worst half season of the show. Beginning and end of 3 were great, 4.0 was brilliant, and second half was ok.

I think after they
left New Caprica
at the beginning of season 2.5 it went downhill, so I suppose you're right. But I disagree that seasons 3 and 4 were good. I don't think it ever recovered after the beginning of 2.5. There were occasional good episodes in season 3 (loved The Passage) but a lot of filler and just stupid stuff. Did not find 4.0 to be above mediocre either, or any part of season 4 for that matter.

Event Horizon is more like a horror movie...hell, Event Horizon could almost be Warhammer in the deep past...

Alien also just horror more or less.

what was the plot to event horizon again? something about opening space portal to hell?

Yes, the FTL drive in the movie basically worked by taking you through a different dimension, and when you come out you have traveled a great distance. I'm not sure if it was explained thoroughly in the movie, but of course in the Warhammer universe, the FTL drives take you through another dimension and that dimension is inhabited by demons and evil creatures of all kinds. Very very similar...

Over at the Mordor BF3 forums, someone made a joke suggestion about breaking into Stargate Command's Cheyenne Mountain to use the alternate reality mirror to find a universe where Firefly had 7 full seasons. So I was thinking about that, and was thinking they could make a new SG-1 series where SG-1, having retired and being bored, steals the alternate reality mirror(I don't remember if it was destroyed, if it was then they have to find a new one) and they roam the alternate universes, looking for alternate versions of movies that didn't suck, or movies that did things better, such as the universe where Peter Jackson was more faithful to the LOTR books and each movie was 6 hours long, and bringing back movies we don'teven have, and video games we don't have or that are better than we have (for example, BF3 from a universe where it's actually a true BF successor) and books, etc. Basically, each episode, they find an improved or brand new game/movie/tv show and bring it back, and actors from actual TV shows in our reality could do cameos where they act out the improved scenes from their alternate universe's version of the movie/tv show.

The zombie apocalypse will prevent that from happening. So many necros today.

I did like Fillion's cameo as Hal Jordan in Justice League Flashpoint though.
