Brilliant Earth Diamonds are from India, not Canada

This guy is being sued for having made this video exposing a company called Brilliant Earth who states to sell "conflict free" diamonds from Canada but in reality they come from various other sources such as India. They are outright lying.

I think this company needs to be exposed for who they are, a bunch of scum. Never heard of them before so not really sure how big they are, but I guess big enough to pull out their big lawyer guns against someone exposing them.

Red Squirrel, I haven't read the links, but what are they suing him for? Libel/slander? The defense of libel/slander is to show that what you said is the truth. Won't they just get exposed in the lawsuit?

I think so. But even if he's in the right, proving something like that is extremely hard to do. Usually facts like this come from "I heard", "I saw" etc incidents. Like in this case he called various suppliers. But it's based on his own personal experience. That won't stand in court. This is not really something you can really have solid evidence for, like you could try to act as someone from India who sells a diamond to them, then put a recording device in the box, but then there's probably laws against that. The guy has no money to fight a lawsuit like this. Well, most individual people would not. He was just someone who decided to do research into this company and found this out and wanted to expose them. But it back fired big time.

Will be interesting to see what happens though. He said he does not want to do the kickstarter thing, but he may end up doing that.
