The youngest son of North Korea's authoritarian leader has been given the title of "Brilliant Comrade," a newspaper reported Friday, a sign the communist regime is preparing to name him as successor to the ailing Kim Jong Il.

I guess they were out of "leaders"?

Who is the Brilliant Comrade?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Jong_Un

Kim Jong-un, Kim Jong-woon or Kim Jung Woon (born January 8, 1984) is the third and youngest son of Kim Jong-il with his late partner Ko Young-hee. JoongAng Daily has reported that he was designated successor by his father, the leader of North Korea.

It is reported that he attended the English language International School of Bern in Bern, Switzerland under a pseudonym, although this is disputed. It is also reported that he speaks English, some German, Bernese German, and French, and that he enjoys skiing and basketball and is a fan of Michael Jordan

Those wacky North Koreans. Always good for a laugh, or a nuke.

When he was insolent, was he placed in a burlap bag and beaten?

At the age of twelve did he receive his first scribe? At the age of fourteen did a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shave his testicles?

I met with this guy once in Shanghai. I have to say he was actually quite cordial and easy to get along with. He did, however, have an incessant tendency to fondle himself through his pocket, which made for distracting conversation. He smelled nothing short of divine, though. I never did find out what cologne he wore.

Loved that movie and role. Comedy genius!

If his nutty dad croaks which looks increasingly likely, this fairly young man may be the heir apparent. I for one am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, he is going to have to work very hard to be as nutty as his Daddy. Or alternately, if he does not have some smart advisers to help him, he will be likely overthrown by someone in the military, and again the replacement is still going to have to work hard to be as nutty as the present leader.

Due to terrible leadership, North Korea has been stuck in a time warp, the rest of the world changes, and North Korea is mired in an untenable past.

You'll give North Korean dictators the benefit of the doubt.. but don't DARE suggest we do that with GWB. Your name fits.. you are definitely a fruit.

Uhmmm, what he is saying is that he has no idea how this guy will govern so lets wait and see. We know exactly how GWB would govern, so he's simply not in that situation. Thought that was pretty easy to understand.

Such was advised with the Kim II.
Regretfully, when they come from a product of the system; they have a hard time breaking out of the system.

Look at Russia - the system fell inward due to the failed policies that it was built on and the reformer was kicked out.

It will require the military choosing to not back the government in a crisis to break the cycle.

Well maybe it will, but that's hardly a reason not to hope otherwise and provide him the opportunity to act more like a normal part of the world.

We have two choices: treat him like an enemy from the get-go... thus ensuring he will be, or be mindful of where he comes from but give him a chance to do better. It's nuts to act otherwise.

When he is officially in charge (no dad over his shoulder); a hand should be extended to him.

If he takes it or follows the current path will be easy to spot and the world will be able to act accordingly.

I bet his son has already been involved in, or at the very least aware of, more torture than Bush or Cheney ever dreamed of.

Way to go out on a limb. He also is part of a totalitarian Regime that doesn't even pretend to care about Human Rights.
