does any body know if there is a nrightness software for monitors that will increase the brightness and contrast. It's kinda hard to watch dark scenes on my monitor and i was wondering there a solution without buying a new one.

Usually this is software that is included with the drivers for your video card.

Right click your desktop and choose properties, then settings/advanced then color.

What are your system specs?

Both Nvidia and ATI have color, brightness, and gamma controls that allow you to change these values past the limts of the monitor.

Are you trying to watch video that is too dark? Play games that are too dark? Usally whatever software you are using has built in brightness adjustment.

Yes.

What video card and operating system do you hasve?

I know what you mean

Get powerstrip - it's the best and most functional - hotkey support for fullscreen games...

all games always end up too dark to see anything and monitor and OS are cranked full brightness

I used to have a monitor I had to do that with... was annoying. This one is nice and bright... I have the brightness turned down to 30 most of the time, unless I'm playing a game in the middle of the day and need to see clearly, then I'll turn the brightness up some. Would be nice if a monitor had a little light sensor on it and could do that automatically as the light in the room changes.

My work monitor has just that. I have a piece of paper taped over it, as my monitor is super-bright as it is.

well i think either my monitor is messed up or my video card out is. So i am wondering if you know any software that adds gamas to my monitor?
