Brightness control...help

I have an EVGA Geforce2 MX 200 and a HP Pavilion M50...Everything is displayed way too dark, so I use the Nview/Twinview tab to adjust the Gamma/Brightness but everything is blended together (white to grey). In some games like C&C Renegade and Serious Same SE it is dark even when i turn up the brightness/gamma in the game properties and I have to window the game and readjust the Nview properties again to get it to look somewhat normal but playable...but then I have to play in a window on a 15in monitor, very annoying. Has anyone ever had this problem or does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Yes I had this problem but it went away when I updated the drivers for my ATI AIW card (Alpha Rig).
