Brightness changes at boot

This is driving me crazy

I have a desktop with win 7 and nvidia 8800GTS. I like to change and set the brightness with nvidia's control panel but whenever i reboot the brightness setting goes back to default. In ndivia's panel the slider remains in the same position but it seems win 7 is changing to default the brightness.

Any idea what would the the solution for this?

My monitors hardware controls are always the same. I never had this problem with XP

I don't understand why you're using that software to change the brightness. Don't you have buttons or a dial on your monitor to adjust the brightness? Seems like so much of an easier solution! Some monitors even allow for different profiles to be setup.

Yep. Just adjust it on the monitor and don't bother with the Nvidia utility.
