There is a very bright object in the western sky, I do not know what it is. I dont think that it is Venus but I could very well be wrong.

Super Nova? - That would be cool.

moon?

This last week was one of those times you could see all 5 naked eye planets in the sky at the same time so it could very well have been Venus, Saturn or Jupiter you saw.

It was Five planets that were all lined up on the same side of their orbits around the Sun that we could see all 5 at once.

Next time will be in 30 years.

Venus is the Brightest planet in the sky because of its proximity to the sun and earth and because of the Highly reflective property of its complete cloud cover. So my guess is that its Venus

It probably was venus, but It was much brighter than I have ever seen it before, bright enough that it definantly caught my attention.

It was Venus. I've seen Mercury almost as bright but it is so much smaller than Venus.

I was wondering what planet that was. I was pretty cool to see last night. I get sucked into stuff like that. I used to spend about 30 minutes a night just staring at hale-Bopp when it was out. 🙂
