A 21-year old Texas man named Charles Ray Fuller, seen in mugshot picture below, tried to cash a $360 billion dollar check by adding 9 zeroes to a personal check stolen from his girlfriend’s mother.
Charles Ray Fuller, 21, told police that the $360 billion dollar check was to start a record company, but now he’s the one singing the blues.
Fuller, now faces charges of fraud for trying to cash the huge check, unlawfully carrying a weapon and possession of marijuana. Officers reportedly found two ounces of marijuana and a .25-caliber handgun and ammunition magazine in his pockets.
According to Fort Worth, Texas police, Fuller said his girlfriend’s mother gave him the check to start his own record business, but for some reason, bank employees wouldn’t cash the $360 billion dollar check without talking to the account owner.
While Fuller waited around, the bank contacted the account’s owner and the woman, his girlfriend’s mother, told them she did not give him permission to take or cash a personal check from her. Their next call was to the police.
In addition to the check forgery charge, 21-year old Charles Ray Fuller was also charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon and possession of marijuana, Fort Worth police Lt. Paul Henderson told reporters.
In response to a reporter’s question, Lt. Henderson said he did not know if the couple were still dating, which brought a chuckle from the crowd of reporters.
Fuller was released after posting $3,750 bail to ensure his court appearance.
