I just attended the 1 day bridgestone winter driving school. It was taught by 1 WRC driver and one road rally driver, Mitch and Robert ( i never got their last names). we only had 6 students, 4 people from where i work, a Colorado highway patrol guy and a guy from Chevron.
The class was very cool. I did not get a chance to take pics or video, but they do have some on their site. We did high speed obstacle avoidance (about 40mph), breaking with and without ABS, under steer and over steer exercises and then they let us loose to lap the track. The track was about a mile long and included hair pins, off and on camber turns and 2 nice straights. The course was 10 corners and built in a farmers field. The field was flooded to make ice and then they use a road grader to build up snow banks along the course. By the end of the day we were drifting around every corner and doing laps pretty quickly. The instructors were critiquing our driving over radio all day. We were driving new 4runners with blizzak tires.
Highly recommended, ESP if you can get your employer to pay for it. I would love to take the performance driving course.
the course is in Steamboat CO
