Bridges on a T-Bird

Ok, this is a really basic question...

I know that the L1 bridges on a T-Bird are for the clock multiplier, but what are bridges for L2 to L7 and how do you interpret when on a particular number some are open and some are closed.

On a side note, I have one of the new 266FSB T-Birds (1.113) and not only did it come with the L1 bridges locked (unjoined), they are REALLY locked (the chip itself is physically cut between the brides on the L1 and on some other bridges (L2 to L7) as well). It seems that ALL the bridges were factory unlocked, and then after the fact the connections were severed by cutting the chip. It looks too cleanly done and the cuts are far too consistent to have been done by "hand"....looks machine punched.

Probably wouldn't be too difficult to bridge the gaps in some way....

Open L1 bridges prevent mobo from resetting the default FSB Multiplier. Other sets of open and closed bridges set default settings for FSB Multiplier, FSB Multiplier "ID", and Vcore functions.

L2 and L5 bridges functions are unknown, but apparently no problem.

Thanks again for the answers....

Now I just have to determine how to REJOIN the L1 bridges....they were joined then the connections (and underlying ceramic) were what appears to be factory cut.

Have to look at the chip again and the extent of the slices....it may be possible with a very FINE TIP mechanical pencil to trace AROUND the slices.

Hmmmm... here is a novel idea for future bridgings...I have some very very fine tip rapidiographic pens......possible to get a supply of conductive ink and load them up with that.....
