http://bridgecontest.usma.edu/ I found out about this the other day. It's been going on for awhile and ends soon but it's fun anyhow. I made a cheap arching bridge for 139k and am ranked at 1800 of about 4k in the SE division.

We used this program as a bonus assignment for our civil eng. class last semester. Some people became obessed with it....

Weak...I had a class back in middle school where we built small wooden bridges out of 1/8" x 1/8" bass wood...I won for that year, my ~12" bridge held something like 60 lbs 🙂

I doubt there's any in it, this is a government pro... I'll look when i get home.

I played around with this program a couple months ago. I got the cost down to about $131k and was in about 110th place in my region. Eventually I got pissed off at it and stopped.
