Anyone know of the equivalent of Breyer's Cherry Vanilla before the company was purchased by Unilever and the entire line Icecream was destroyed and turned into garbage cornsyrup & industrial chemicals "frozen dessert"

They can no longer sell it as Ice Cream.

Sucks Millenials will never be able to experience Breyer's Ice cream.

I like Ben and Jerrys, but I don't know if they make a cherry vanilla. Look in the supermarket isle, and see if anything looks interesting. You may even luck into a small local maker, but your odds are better if you don't go to a huge grocery chain.

Beyer changed years ago. I don't know why you're complaining now. It's still cheap and that's what people want.

B&J Cherry Garcia is the best mass produced cherry ice cream.

Because since the Europeans destroyed American Ice cream I have not been able to find it as of yet.

Cherry Garcia I tried and it tastes nothing like the original

Here are the ingredients

Ingredients: Cream, Skim Milk, Liquid Sugar (Sugar, Water), Water, Cherries, Sugar, Egg Yolks, Coconut Oil, Cocoa (Processed With Alkali), Cocoa, Fruit And Vegetable Concentrates (Color), Guar Gum, Natural Flavor, Lemon Juice Concentrate, Butteroil, Carrageenan, Soy Lecithin.

What Breyers Cherry Vanilla Ingredients looked like.

Milk,Cream,Sugar,Cherries. That was it and it what a taste/texture it had. I still have not found anything yet like it. You guys have no idea what you missed out on.

Whatever. I've made Cherry Garcia plenty of times at home using the original B&J recipe and it tastes pretty much the same. Nothing is stopping you from making it at home.

Isn't Breyers is that ice cream that's 25% ice cream and 75% air? Did they whip it or somehow pump it full of air? I think that turkey brand does the same thing. I never understood the appeal with choices like Haagen Dazs, B&J, and good local and regional brands that have more taste in one spoon than these airy brands have in an entire gallon.

When I was growing up in the 60's and 70's Breyers was the best. The vanilla used real vanilla beans and had those little specks in it.

However, when the "super premium" brands like Haagan Dazs, Ben and Jerrys and Frusen Gladge came out the market wouldn't support cheap, medium and best. People who wanted price went cheap and people who wanted quality went super premium. That left Breyers in the middle and killed them. They are now in a race to the bottom.

Looking at breyer's website, they still have ice cream made with only 5 ingredients, the only ones I saw were natural vanilla, natural strawberry, and chocolate. I didn't look at every flavor but it looks like most are made with corn syrup and other shit. Too bad. Luckily I rarely eat ice cream anymore.

Unilever bought Breyer's in the early 1990's, don't know when they started using corn syrup though.

I don't like their inclusion of "natural flavors" in the ingredients, which could be anything. Otherwise, I'm seeing quite a number of Breyer's flavors using only: milk, cream, sugar, tara gum, fruit also sometimes whey and eggs as the main ingredients. These are the only ones I will buy.
