Bret Hart

I started watching wrestling a lot back in the early 90s and loved Bret Hart, The Undertaker, Chris Benoit and some of the other good guys. I especially had a an admiration for Hart because of the way he carried himself. He was probably the best technical wrestler that I've seen. He has since quit wrestling and has had a fued with Vince McMahon, who he says has screwed him over.

I was watching a documentary on Bret Hart the other day and I really feel McMahon is an SOB at times. Wrestling is fake, I understand that. It is entertainment, that is what I used to love. Too bad I haven't watched wrestling for the past 5 years, but, Bret Hart has a place in my heart.

What do you all feel about Bret "The Hitman" Hart?

Wasn't the whole "screwed by McMahon" thing just another staged act? Perhaps BH was ready to leave the business and that whole incident was just a memorable way for him to go out?

Well..he quit wrestling for physical reasons. First he was laid out by Bill Goldberg by a terrible and ill-timed kick to the head. Pro-wrestlers are trained to protect each other in the ring when they do their moves but Goldberg was known to be sloppy in the ring. Then while he was recovering he had a heart attack which pretty much sealed his retirement.

I always enjoyed watching Bret Hart perform and he's had some fun matches against Shawn Michaels, had a fantastic match against his brother Owen at Wrestlemania..etc. Bret is cool in my eyes.

Nope, he is fine and about do stuff with his life.

Mloot, maybe, but McMahon lied to him during his last WWF match before he was going to go to the WCW. He said that the match between him and Shawn Michaels would be a disqualification, but Michaels won. That was a major screw up and McMahon knew all along about it.

Bret Hart and McMahon agreed right before the match about who would win. He broke the agreement. Soon afterwards, Hart punched McMahon in the dressing room.

Actually it was a stroke. I wonder how soon it will be before this turns into a bret hart vs. shawn michaels flamefest.

I'm thinking not. If you watch the Bret Hart special that ran on A&E a few years ago (Its called Wrestling with Shadows I think) you know that the match was supposed to end in a DQ with Micahels winning, but not the belt. Then Bret was supposed to drop the belt a few nights later and not in Canada.

I was a huge Hitman fan (bigger Owen Hart fan, until the got stupid gimmicks like the Nugget and the Blue Blazer)...

I'd recommed buying the WWE DVD that just came out about Bret. I lucked out and picked it up at a local FYE for only $12 (usually $28-32) and it is jampacked with stuff. 18 full-length matches and a 2 1/2 hour documentary.
