using this for my source.lst for Breezy Badger from unoffical ubuntuguide
http://ubuntuguide.org/
but seem to be getting a lot of 404 errors when I try to use it. Is this the same as the source lists you other guys are using?

Not sure. Not a Ubuntu user.

However those are just regular http websites. Visit the websites that work for you, and see how they are setup.. then check out the websites that don't work and see what they did that is different.

If your going exactly off what the guide says and the people at the forums say something different to get it to work then I'd file a bugreport if they have bug tracking for their website.

where did you get that list? ubuntuguide.org hasn't been updated for the breezy release, so just assuming that you can change hoary to breezy may or may not be correct.

I would take this problem to the ubuntu forums and see what they have to say.

They should be right. Just change your sources list straight from everything that says "hoary" to "breezy"

I'd load mine up for you, but i've been seeding Ubutnu 5.10 i386 and x86-64 since it was released last week, and the only torrent cline that works is bit comet for me 😉

rmrf: yeah you are supposed to be able to do that 😉

except I've been having trouble with my normal hoary repositories.

I removed the us prefix from some of the url's, but had to leave some of the others so that they worked correctly. that solved all my problems with updating.

also, depending on whether or not the OP put the etch repository in to get the W32codecs, and accidentally upgraded before he removed the repository and updated, that will cause a world of hurt on his system.

Ive been having trouble with the repositories for a few months now, sometimes they are there and sometimes not!!

Though I think it has been almost 100% problems with the security repository, I have tried using the US ones rather than GB and all kinds of combos and they just seem to be wierded out.

try removing the us, or gb completely and just use security.ubuntu.org, or whatever it ends up being. that's what I tried, and have had no problems since I changed that. It could be my network though, that is another problem...
