Breaking the Thermal paste seal

If i accidentally twisted my HSF (ACFreezer7Pro) slightly, but i didn't take it off my mobo, it should be fine right? Because i'm thinking otherwise. My temps jumped from 43 idle to 47 idle.
And if this is the case, would i need to reseat the HSF? or will the paste re-do (for a lack of a better word) itself?

Once a HSF has bedded in, twisting like that could introduce some air pockets. I'd clean off the old goop and put new goop on. (TIM aka HS grease aka goop)
