These are babies.. mostly K from the reports now..
so the youngest at the school..

Who says all teachers need to be armed? Who says they need Uzis? Who says these people woudn't be required to take training?

Not sure what you mean by TM case, but people aren't allowed to defend themselves? No one said to arm the children.
So some guy is trying to rape your wife/gf/mom/sister. She's supposed to call the police and wait? She's supposed to let the guy
rape her and possibly kill her while she waits for the police?
What if she can't call the police? What if she has no phone, the battery is dead, or it's broken or taken by the rapist?
Those people in the school called the police and waited. They got killed. Had someone had a gun, they could have killed the shooter
before he killed anyone or possibly lessesned the amount of victims.

Why do anti-gun people always assume people are going to kill their own kids or neighbors? Guns have been around for a long time. It seems to happen very rarely.
The sole purpose of these guns is not for killing people. hunting is valid. target shooting and sport shooting is valid.

Who cares? To me if innocent kids died because of it, it doesn't really matter what type of weapon it is.

Wow! What a nice comment.

I guess I should've explained myself. I was originally thinking it was an assault rifle. To me that would be alot less personal interaction than using two pistols. Having to go from victim to victim with a pistol is more disturbing I think.

Yeap. Not to mention that the incredibly rare and incredibly dangerous people like this shooter and the one at the Theatre for the Dark Knight shooting wouldn't be dissuaded by something as mild as gun laws. Hell the DK theatre shooter had an apartment full of explosives. There was nothing stopping him from using those instead, potentially killing hundreds of people. And I'm pretty sure he didn't have permission to have those explosives legally.

If we could have some reset where magically the ~1B+ firearms in the US (proabably more like 2.5-4B at least) all simultaneously disappeared, that would make gun control temporarily more feasible (before they became massively imported on the black market a la our 'drug war'), but right now gun control laws just punish the law abiding and the criminals/nutters ignore them wholesale (see DC, Chicago, NY, etc, whereever strict gun control is in effect in the US).

I'm sure the twenty 5-6 year olds he killed were thinking clearly enough to rush the guy and rip his throat out in between his changing magazines.

A pistol can have anywhere between 10-18 rounds or so. Two pistols, 36 rounds.

One AK, 30 rounds. This debate is idiotic, and frankly a slap to the face of those that have died. Take this garbage to P&N. For fucks sake, even the politicians with the biggest agendas on this issue are willing to wait until another day before going back and forth on this.

I'm not saying that they would be forced to be armed. if they wanted to, they could, otherwise they could have armed guards on site. I've already mentioned this earlier.

How would that be any less personal? Guy goes into a classroom. Room is maybe 30 feet long regardless of whether he is shooting a pistol or a rifle. Did you think he was shooting them from across the football field? That's about the only way your comment could make any sense.

Gun control nuts: This shooting like all the mass shootings won't do anything for gun control.

Gun freaks: For those calling for arming everyone, yea, imagine if this same incident happened at an NRA convention, everyone would be shooting at anything that moved, total chaos, multiple gun assailants.

Don't have a point really since I don't live in your country.

I'll just say this. Where I'm from to have a gun you need to have a permit. Yes, criminals have guns, my cousin is currently recuperating from multiple gunshots wounds at home. We have never had a mass killing like what has been occurring in America.

Too many liability issues.

Is the school responsible for training them?
If a teacher chooses not to carry and another shooting happens will they get sued?
If a teacher chooses to carry but chooses not to shoot will they get sued?
If they hit a kid when they shoot will they get sued?

As conditions worsen, we'll see more and more of this crap on the news. How we're living as a society is not helping. Sad, sad all around.

I'm numb. Can't even begin to try to understand what, and why this happened.

To legally own ANY handgun or anything but a standard hunting rifle ( Shotgun, bolt, or semi auto) you need licenses here as well.

That doesn't mean people don't steal or buy handguns in the grey markets.

thats not for me to decide. the current situation obviously isn't doing any good. right now they have no option to defend themselves.
