Police were called to the home of WWE superstar Steve Williams, better known to most as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin from World Wrestling Entertainment last night.

Apparently Austin had attacked his wife Debra, but was not at the house when police arrived at approximately 4:00am.

Debra had a welt under her eye and bruises on her shoulder and back. She said things like this has happened before, but she was reluctant to call police due to Austin's celebrity status.

**Update on Austin Fired Situation**
From WWE CONFIDENTIAL:
Vince McMahon said the door is not open for Steve Austin to return because he has a responsibility to uphold for WWE share holders, fans, and him looking in the mirror at himself. He said it would be completely unacceptable for someone to walk out on WWE twice in 4 months and then be welcomed back with open arms whenever he decides to grace them with his presence.

Jim Ross compared Steve Austin walking out on WWE to John Wayne being a coward in a big fight - he never saw it coming. He said Austin went through a broken neck (which he said with some vulgarity), a terrible divorce, and loads of personal and professional problems while in WWE and for him to walk out on WWE and go home when they hit a bump in the road is just cowardly.

Overall, the interviews basically explained everything already known to those who follow news on the internet, but did confirm that this is not a work and that Steve Austin won't be coming back to World Wrestling Entertainment anytime soon - if ever.

Wrestler and role model in same sentence?

Umm, back away from the keyboard beast.

Oh wait, I take that back. We have a govenor in the US..... It's some sorry state, name eludes me right now.

It's attached to Canada, I remember that much.

Maybe we should relinquish it to Canada? Now that's a good idea.

For what possible reason would he hit his wife??? I mean, he's like twice her size.

Maybe he should be reading John 3:16 instead of proclaiming himself the chosen one.

Well.. it seems strange to me, but apparently the timing of the incident was shortly after WWE CONFIDENTIAL would have aired by him.. maybe he got upset and frustrated with the comments JR & Vince made... and lashed out at the closest target?

WRestlers are role models whether you people want to recognize it or not. And no, I don't think wrestling in general has a negative impact on kids. But, I think spoucal abuse is.

A lot of us happen to like Jesse Ventura governing Minnesota. And before relinquishing it to Canada........

a) Don't talk with your mouth full, it insults those Minnesotan farmers that feed you!

b) Prepare to pay a bit higher price on office supplies and computer hardware....3M and IBM makes/are responsible for the idea of a lot of that stuff.

c) Do you want to keep the domestic steel mills open? Most of the iron for domestic steel comes from Minnesota!

Wrestling was good back in the day when Randy "Macho Man" Savage and Piper were around. The crap today is nothing but costumes, music, and a stupid story line with horrible acting. I'd rather watch PBS over wresting any day.

I think its rigged, like most of this modern wrestling...but, I give this story the OBVIOUS tag..

Bring back the glory days circa 1990. Now, its just about money, girls, costumes.
