Myron Cope was a positive force in general and an institution in Pittsburgh sports. His passing is a great loss.

Several local stations preempted morning shows for a 1 hour bio, and I'm sure there will be many more.

The non-Pittsburgh ATOTers probably don't know that Myron Cope developed the Terrible Towel. Many other teams now have something similar. Though they have sold hundreds of thousands of official Terrible Towels, every cent of profit has been given to the Allegheny Valley school, a non-profit that works with children and adults with intellectual developmental disabilities. So far, the Terrible Towel has brought in over $2.2 million for the school.
