Mitt Romney Set To Pick Paul Ryan As Running Mate

NORFOLK, Va. -– Mitt Romney will announce Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) as his running mate on Saturday, according to two sources with knowledge of the decision.

Ryan is a bold pick who will energize the Republican Party, but putting him on the ticket is fraught with risk and instantly puts Ryan's budget plan front and center in the 2012 campaign.

Romney will announce his choice in Norfolk on Saturday morning at the beginning of a four-day bus tour through key battleground states, the campaign said Friday night. The Weekly Standard reported earlier Friday that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has been asked to be ready to make the case for Ryan beginning Saturday.

Yes, I would love to see the issue in this campaign to be Ryans supply side economics.

The 2013 proposal includes plans to convert Medicare into a voucher-like program, cap non-defense discretionary federal spending at $1.029 trillion, and consolidate the six existing income tax brackets into only two

You, Overbite and Bowfingers are clearly not smart enough to understand what Ryan is saying.

No worries, to win the election the Rs are going to have to make the message simple and clear enough for even you three to understand.

Whether you can accept the message remains in doubt.

The plan requires that large cuts in current deductions be eliminated. R's will have to say what they are? Mortgage deduction? State tax deduction?

And Ryans budget won't reduce the deficit until 2040

That sounds a lot like Ryan's math: 1 + 1 + 1 = 2. Though Democrats aren't always very bright either, I'm betting they can figure that one out.

Edit: Ah, you corrected it. It was so much more entertaining orginally. :)

Someone will need to ask how many years of tax returns did Ryan show Romney for his vetting because the American people are only getting one year from Romney with the promise of another year some time in the future.

Paul Ryan - always the adult in the room.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, Puul Ryan, the most adult pretending wing nut in the room. Dumb and dumber, a sure fire GOP platform in 2012. Sure to appeal to 50% of the GOP base while alineating all democrats and most independents.

Add NBC news and CNN as sites confirming its Ryan.

Wow, could you possibly pick more reliably wrong lamestream Democrat Party media outlets than the HuffandPuff Post, DNC News and the going, going, gone CNN?

I am going to sleep, will wake up to fact, not conjecture.

I have to say out of all the other candidates he could have picked, this is his best choice.

Romney has to shore up support with his base, and Ryan is the perfect way to do this.

Romney had to shore up his base?

like his base was going to vote Obama?

Romney should have gone with Rubio

Paul Ryan will slash Medicare/Medicaid/Social Security. Romney just handed the election to Obama. Even conservatives don't want anyone to touch their Medicare.

Romney's fate is now sealed. He went with the far right and has abandoned the huge block of realist moderates and independents. How is Romney ever going to explain that the rightwingnut halloween mask and cone shaped party hat (with elastic chin strap) he just put on when he picked Ryan and his "all for the rich" economic proposal is just to keep the whacko righties in the Repub looneybin?

IMO, Romney just made a bold and fatal choice like McCain did.

Well played! :D

I just have one bumper sticker on my car, it says "Bumper stickers are for morons!". I felt a statement needed to be made against making statements on your bumper by making a statement against bumper statements on my bumper.
