I know this belongs in politics forum, but I just thought this was a good sign for our troops in Iraq and maybe the violence can finally end and we can bring them home sooner.

Well the repercussions are that we once again have two threads on the same topic;)

No offense meant at all, but when you're in the middle of writing a post, and realize that the first words are "I know this should be in a different area of the forum" it's probably better to put it there...

What are reprocutions?

The things that the rebels and militants are going to do now.. I can't imagine there just going to sit back and let this happen.

Any news on whether Sadr ran, or actually lived up to his promise of fighting to the death? Hopefully the Iraqi police can handle the aftermath of this, because I'm sure this is not over.

What are the reprocussions? Probably not that many, given that it was the Iraqi police who took control and not US forces, and the other little fact that most residents of Najaf would probably like al-Sadr to just go away.

I don't see why we just didn't gas the place. You're not raining down on it with hellfire, bombs, missles, bullets, etc - just drop in an assload of tear gas or some other non-lethal concoction.

I didn't post this in Politics because nobody is there right now. Not like I am the first or even 10th person to do this. If the mods see fit they will move it over there. That place is dead as dead can be right now with maybe 3 people in there at the most.

I wanted to see people's reactions to them taking over the mosque that is why I made this thread. Why else would I?

If it bothers you so much that I posted it in off-topic instead of politics and it has ruined your day I am sorry that something so little like this has turned your day upside down. I hope the hairs you have pulled out of your head will regrow.

news is news. It can be anything to the videos you guys post in here to the weird and wacky stuff people find and post on here. 50% of the threads in here should really belong in Politics and NEWS, but they do not go there. Now all calm down and relax..

Mods move if you wish.

Me too:(

It's not that big a deal; and I know lots of people don't ever go to P&N; for those of us that do, it's just a little annoying to have to follow two different threads on an interesting topic.
