Why do people continue to run? They'll just endangering everyone else and themselves. The chase is on right now if you turn on the TV and live in SoCal. They're chasing a burgundy SUV, if you're missing one, you know where it is.

So, today is another chase on TV, this time it's a stolen U-haul with a FEMALE driver. Stand by for more play by play news.

It's because of Grand Theft Auto! These horrible games are ruining the country, and should be banned immediately.

Meh, show is over. The idiot wobbled out of the SUV after T-boning the truck, hops a few fences, walks around somebody's yard and then got pwned. Move along folks.

the way I've heard it told, every moment spent in the chase is one more moment spent NOT (yet) in custody.

Not exactly the smartest move in the book, but I can understand the twisted sort of logic that your typical, dumb-enough-to-be-caught, criminal would follow.

Because once in a great while somebody gets away.

Even when a news helicopter is able to follow you?

I remember the one where a dude on a motorcycle managed to get out of sight from the cars on the ground, and drove under an overpass or bridge or something to get out of sight from the helicopters (news and police) and completed an escape.

but still, the odds are stacked so far against you that no sane, rational person would bother.. thankfully the human race is full of insane, irrational criminals so the rest of us get to watch them fail miserably :D

well, except for those unlucky enough to get tboned by some asshole with 2.5 strikes :(

I remember once where the perp drove into the Beverly Center mall, and the commentators on Fox News just suddenly sat there and were dumbfounded at the realization that the guy might actually get away by parking the car and going into the mall.

I remember that one. Can't recall if they got away or not.

Methed up people don't consider consequences. I'd imagine most people who do these things do so under the influence of something.

Might as well be driving a bright pink bus. Good luck getting away in that thing. If and when it crashes it will do a lot of damage.

Sadly, each time I watch that thing weaving all I could think is this is really going to hurt if she crashes into someone =

even without the audio stream, the cnn video is oddly still captivating. Maybe more so cause I have Iron Maiden's - Run to the Hills, stuck in my head.

waiting for it to crash.... that's what always happens in a chase right?

oddly enough no police cruisers around it right now. *edit* nevermind there is one now.

^^ that's what I thought too : it's odd that there weren't, but it's just not on camera : there are two cruisers I think pursuing it at some distance.

sorry : there is a "Watch Live: Police Pursuit of Stolen U-Haul" in a Red Bar near the top, that's what I clicked.

One thing that is kinda nice is I was able to install silverlight without having to restart firefox. Not that it would have been hard, but it still is nice.
