Why? Because the RIAA is going after people that are illegally stealing and sharing copywrited music? Because the government hasn't done a single thing to curb p2p file swapping?

Granted, I disagree with the "vigilante" style justice that the RIAA has taken upon themselves to deal out to the bigtime offenders, but hey, they have to do something.
