Two US soldiers missing in Iraq since Friday have been found dead south of Baghdad, Iraq's defence ministry says.

Spokesman Gen Abdul Aziz Mohammed said the bodies were found in the Yusifiya area. The US military has not yet confirmed the statement.

An insurgent group linked to al-Qaeda in Iraq had claimed it abducted the soldiers from a checkpoint.

The missing men have been named as Kristian Menchaca and Thomas Tucker, both from the 101st Airborne Division.

One US soldier was killed in the attack on the checkpoint.

When will the sheeple realize that this war is not going to get any better anytime? Just saw "Fog of War" over the weekend (it was on the History Channel), i recommend it for the righty/neo-cons.

This goes back to the concept of fighting a war. Either you do it, or you don't. If we've decided that we're too civilized to fight the war on their terms, we must concede and leave, because we will never be able to fight this war on our terms, whilst on their land.

I won't argue with that logic. That is why we lost in Vietnam and why we shouldn't have invaded Iraq in the first place unless we were POSITIVE that they had WMD's. The Iraqis/ME now claim the moral high ground, good job brownie.

We defeated the Axis powers during WW2 without lowering ourselves to their level. Using your logic we should of starved , bayoneted and then beheaded Japanese prisoners and done mass execution with the German prisoners.

I don't know which history you've been reading, but you should certainly tell your side of the story to the citizens of Dresden, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, etc...

P.S. WE didn't defeat ****** in WWII... we got involved in actual combat when the only question that remained was how much of europe would USSR gobble up. And if you think Red Army soldiers were very humane upon the lands of those that wrought such horrors in their homeland, you are both ignorant and insane.

And it's totally true!

West is too weak to fight a war like that today. Same reason we lost VN we will lose in Iraq. Terrorists and insurgents know you commit sniping/IED, meld back into population, rinse repeat everyday until puplic get tired of seeing thier young men slaughtered. It's already happened..by 2008 even most neocons will be begging for a way out.

Yep, if you are the aggressor / invader, as the US is in Iraq, the only way to win is through complete and total pacification. If you are the defender, all you have to do to win is drive off the invaders. If the invader is not willing to do whatever it takes to ensure complete and total pacification, he will never win.
