BREAKING: George Tenet RESIGNS from CIA director post

CNN.com

I think this news transcends the boundaries of P&N vs. OT, so I decided to set up this mirror thread.

I'm actually quite surprised - he seemed to have a good relationship with Bush. It'll be interesting to see what he has to say about the war in Iraq when he's not constrained by the limitations of his job. After all, the CIA's intelligence was the Administration's main justification for the WMD argument.

If he wants to remain upright he will keep his mouth shut about anything really damaging.

That's just the way it goes.

Or he'll write a wildly successful tell-all book and have tens of millions to retire on.

He didn't do a very good job. I'm only surprised that he didn't resign earlier.

I don't understand your comment -- Bush said he did a SUPERB job! ;)

(which is exactly what he said about Donald Rumsfeld after the Iraqi prisoner pics were leaked)

Bush is just an idiot, thats all that can be said. The only reason we went into Iraq was because he decided that he could finish his daddies little mistake without much fanfare, and truthfully he hasnt gotten that much. The only Weapons of Mass Destruction Bush has seen was a bunch of pretzels.
