Ok, what is the correct way for me to argue for this then? I searched the whole forum for sale and the result is overwhelming. I searched a few different key words in suggestions and I can't find any discussion of breaking up the sale section, or of wanting to change the sale section after the fact. I have been a member for two years now, I use the sale section on a regular basis, I can never remember it being broken up in the way I am suggesting.
Here is what I suggest
Instead of having a sales section for the sales of all items, how about instead we have specific sales sections for specific items. For instance. software might be sold in a different section then hardware. CPUs might be sold in a different section than hard drives, or peripherals. The break up I think makes the most sense to me would be the following sections
Video- for graphics cards, monitors, and graphics related accessories
Core Components - for CPU, motherboards, memory
Other components - which might include power supplies, hard drives, SSD drives, and computer cases. Maybe coolers, heatsinks, and water cooling as well.
Software - games, OS, ect
In the event that a person has a lot of different items to sell, instead of having one huge thread, they could have several smaller threads, posted in the correct sections based on what that item is.
This plan has several pros that I can see:
*it makes everything easier to find for the buyer. Finding a specific item in the sale section is very difficult right now. This would focus a search in the way that searching the forum would not.
*Sellers don't have to compete for space on the front page as vigorously. For every section added, that is another front page. The more the threads get split up, the easier to find for buyers, the more page time for the seller. Less thread bumping.
*In some respects moderating would be easier. More clearly defined rules for members and administrators.
cons that I can see
*its change
*would make moderating more difficult in some ways trying to force the organization
Counter points are welcome. I would like to discuss this if possible, thank you.
