I know I'm going to sleep better tonight... the FBI has released one composite sketch and is working feverishly to complete a second.

If you make a spotting matching this Sketch, run like hell and call the FBI immediately. I know I've personally called them 83 times already today. Oh.. and I'll be sure to update this thread when the FBI *experts* release that next sketch.

My father and two of his friends went to D.C. this weekend to go sightseeing. I told him to make sure that if he walks anywhere with them not to be the guy standing in the middle...that's just asking to get sniped.

Since you obviously think the authorities are doing a less than adequate job in finding this freak, perhaps you'd like to lend your suggestions for finding the man that nobody has actually seen, who strikes from a football field away, & scurries away before anybody knows what happened?

We're all ears.

I'd personally invest in a bullet proof garment head to toe, strap a target on my head, and start wondering around town on a moped with a shot detection system mounted on my head to triangulate where it came from, oh and a rifle on my back to shoot back...

Well Viper, like someone pointed out on Foxnews, Charles Moose is not suited to do this job. His department is not setup to handle homicides of this nature. He needs to get some top detectives from either DC, NY, LA or Chicago and tell the FBI to get lost. The FBI wants to pretend like they can catch murderers in Urban areas but almost every serial killer case theFBI touchs they fvck it up. He needs some homicide detectives and to get more information out to the public regarding descriptions.

I thought body armor only worked if it was small-arms fire. I didn't know body armor was commercially available that could withstand high-powered rifle fire.

The last thing they want is a "The boy who cried wolf" syndrome. When they get flooded with calls, it is hard to determine the important ones.

Is that a Mitsubishi Fuso? That's like the only Mitsubishi that you will never see with rims, a body kit, and a big ol' fartpipe! Not that I'm giving any suggestions to the fellow PhotoChoppers out there...

I'll tell you what Columbo....why don't' you get on the case and round up your friends Mannix, Magnum, Jim Rockford, Ironsides, McQ, that bitch from Murder She Wrote, Speed Buggy & his pals, Matlock, Father Dowling, Remington Steele, Scarecrow & Mrs. King, Dan Tanna, Barnaby Jones, and you can all load up in the Mystery Machine and go out and solve the problem since you don't seem to think the FBI or the local police are capable.

Not my job... I've got $2500 deduction on every pay check that allows me to criticize them. I can tell you this, the way they have handled this investigation up to this point is a JOKE. Releasing composite sketches of a white delivery truck and a Chevy Astro van. Nice use of FBI resources... How many vehicles matching this description do think are floating around the DC area?

From a very practical standpoint a .223 round isn't really all that 'high-powered'. Many places won't even let you hunt deer with it because of the high chance of not killing the deer. .223 is more of a varmint round. People most often use it for shooting prairie dogs, or tin cans. Go to your local sporting goods store (or department) and pick up a box of .223. Then pick up a box of .308 shells. You will notice quite a difference before you even look at the round.
As far as the body armor....

Bullet Proof Me
Second Chance
Point Blank

How body armor actually works:

How it works

You know what, your right... I completely forgot that we live in communist/facist state where the governing powers are all mighty and not worthy to be criticized. My bad. *sigh*

Spewing criticism without also spelling out an idea for improvement is just worthless talk. Sure, those sketches aren't exactly much to go on, but that is just about all they have excluding that card. So, just what exactly would you suggest they do to improve the investigation, since you are such an expert in the ways of crime investigation and the FBI is so lacking in said skills?

Not to worry codehack. I'm sure you're safe in Illinois.

And for the debaters who argue incessantly over this sniper's choice of caliber, I can think of eight people who, if they could, would tell you that .223 is more than adequate for the purpose of killing folks.
