Ex-FBI agent says colleagues are fed up with GOP attacks on their work

“I would talk to my colleagues who would say, ‘This is really strange, where you have Republicans, the quote-unquote party of law enforcement, that are turning their wrath on us,'” he said. “That has now escalated into anger. I talked to my former colleagues who say, ‘The nonsense, we’re getting tired of it, how can you have a political party that is out here going after a law enforcement entity for the sole purpose of trying to undermine its credibility in an investigation?’ It’s something that is really starting to get under the skin of FBI agents and other law enforcement officers watching this.”

Wow I really feel bad for these guys who essentially put Trump in power.

Your ignorance is a little annoying.

James Comey is the one who ordered Hillary be investigated twice. the 2nd one coming immediately before the election and possibly costing her votes. And then Donald turned against him.
The other agents just followed orders. Which is what they were supposed to do.
The current guy had nothing to do with it.

This isn't entirely true. First of all, Comey made the late announcement because he knew if he didn't, the NY office was going to leak. Secondly, a majority of FBI agents hate Hillary as much as any other fucking conservative. I went to one of their meetings about cyber security during the election and Hillary was referred to as "the one whose name we shall not speak" to a round of applause.

Yes Comey fucked up, but I at least understand why he did what he did. FBI agents, like most of law enforcement, are a bunch of authoritarian assholes.

I’m still waiting for an explanation why a dormant FBI twitter account suddenly became active with excitement about potential Hillary emails on Weiners laptop.

Sure, Dank, but that doesn't mean rank & file FBI guys don't resent these attacks on the integrity of what often is their life's work which is to keep America safe the best they know how. The FBI is far from perfect but they don't deserve what Trump & the GOP are throwing at them. They don't deserve it from you, either.

Comey's reasoning is still bullshit, and his framing in the letter was favorable to the Republicans, despite it being very, very likely it was just duplicates. Comey also thought it would be "catastrophic" if Hillary did get through the election with a criminal offense, yet that [mishandling classified info] is something that is easily remedied with line of succession. Trump campaign collusion with a foreign power isn't, and of course it's bearing out that he's putting the interests of Russia first and is encouraging more interference from the Russians. The argument that it was a given Hillary would win is not only weak for its lack of analysis, but because the Senate was incredibly important as well i.e. if there's less than 50 Senators caucusing with Democrats, then no SC confirmations during Hillary's entire term. Had Obama picked an FBI director that wasn't a Republican, they certainly wouldn't have gone against protocol in a way that would decimate their own favored party.

You keep trying to win over America. I ran out of patience for liberal-hating Yosemite Sams on November 8th, 2016

A LOT of them are worse than Comey. This from Comey is infuriating:

Just venting like a Trumpster, huh?

Hey, maybe if the public perception of the FBI can be destroyed nobody will believe them when & if they & the Special Counsel reveal the nefarious nature of the President. It would give our GOP Congress all they need to let Trump slide on by. Oh, Joy!

Why play into it?

Source that please.

LEMON: Yes. So this is -- this is including the I.G. report. This is an October 5th e-mail that Comey sent to CIA Chief John Brennan and the Director of National Intelligence James Clapper on publicly acknowledging the Russia investigation.

Here's what he writes. He says, "I think the window has closed on the opportunity for an official statement with four weeks until the presidential election. I think the marginal incremental disruption inoculation impact of the statement would be hugely outweighed by the damage to the intelligence community's reputation for independence. I could be wrong and frequently am, but America -- Americans already know the Russians are monkeying around on behalf of one candidate. Our confirming it, one, adds little to the public mix, two, begs different -- difficult questions about both how we know that -- know that and what we are going to do about it, and three, exposes us to serious accusations of launching our own October surprise. The last bit is utterly untrue, but a reality in our poisonous atmosphere."

So what? His voice was just one among many & the decision was ultimately left to Obama. They were all just trying to figure out how to advise him.

Oh please. He was clearly biased towards conservatism. And I'm definitely aware that it was ultimately Obama's call, which I've previously discussed with you. Obama was more concerned with his legacy of his attempts at bipartisanship than with the direction of the country, which hurt us immensely. He should have known better to do the exact opposite of what the evil turtle wanted him to do.

Obama just had too much faith in the American public, as did a lot of people.

The question comes down to "Are you out of your fucking mind?" & way, way too many people answered in the affirmative.
