Break away power connector for Dell?

I purchased a Dell XPS 13 for my wife. It came with the traditional power plug that inserts into the side of the laptop. My Macbook Pro has a very nice feature -- a power cord that connects to the Mac by a magnet and breaks away if someone trips over the power cord, for example. I contacted Dell and asked if anything like this would work with the XPS, and they said no.
My concern is that my wife is a bit clumsy, and I can see her doing something that will seriously damage the power slot when connected. Thus, does anyone know if an aftermarket solution is available that will work with the XPS? I've seen some aftermarket products, but none list the XPS as a compatible laptop.

Why Dell doesn't just make the break away connector standard, I have no idea. My Macbook has had this feature since 2013.

Thanks!

Probably because Apple has patented the "Magsafe" power connector?

No doubt. But I was hoping an aftermarket solution like this would work, but it's apparently not compatible with the XPS.

Apple actually started using MagSafe in 2006 when they made the Intel switch. What kind of battery life does the XPS get? Why not use the battery that is in it, and charge it when it's low, or overnight?

That is certainly the most rational and logical idea; however, logic doesn't seem to sink in when dealing with my wife.

The Surface line has breakaway magnetic power adapters. I don't know of any third-party adapters for other brands.
