Brazil? or Brasil?

To make it short: We saw a Brazil uniform made by Adidas in a store. The store consists of merchandises that were stolen from other stores. ( I know, WTF, we were led there.) Anyways, we were arguing about how Brazil should be spelt. She said that on a uniform, it's spelled Brasil. I said otherwise. Any ideas?

I see..
but when manufactured by Adidas, and it is seen here in Canada, it should be Brazil right? Those fskers couldn't have gone to Brazil to steal those Brasil uniforms...
To add to it, those uniforms look really like counterfeits - blurry text and such. I'm no expert but I can distinguish between Grade B/C counterfeits and real ones.

Brasil is the Portuguese spelling, AFAIK. If they're making mock national soccer team uniforms, why wouldn't they want to use the native language's spelling (e.g., Italia, Deutschland)?

We use more of the Queen's English than you might think.

Sorry I don't get it?

Yep, Brasil is the correct spelling of Brazil on their soil. Just like United States of America is the correct spelling here rather than Estados Unidos da América as it would be in Brazil.
