Braves back in First place. familiar territory i'd say.

not only are they in first place in a season where expectations for them were very very low, but they have the 3rd best record in the NL. and the dodgers are only 1/2 a game up on the braves. watching how the dodgers have been playing lately, i wouldn't expect that lead to last. and the Cardinals who have the best record in the NL lost 2 of 3 to the braves recently.

the braves are playing well again.

this might be a good year for the braves. there is no clearly dominant team. the red sox have taken a step back since last year, the yankees aren't what they were. St Louis is pretty good.

if the braves can make it out of the NL, i don't think there is an AL team that can beat them. but probably the same can be said for the marlins and cardinals.

i think the MLB could end up being a three team race, braves, cardinals and marlins.

AL after looking so dominant for about 8 seasons look vulnerable this year.

You have to keep expecting them to be in first until they actually miss it for once.

The NL East is so balanced that it's going to be a dog fight between Atlanta and the Marlins, IMO. No wild card for the loser!

I say the Braves still somehow end up at the top of the division.

not only is the NL East balance but they might be the best division in the MLB. ok, AL East is pretty good too considering the yankees are in last place.

Braves are always good, just hopefully they dont choke in the postseason, but thats still a long way off. The damn Orioles are the story of the year so far, didnt expect this from their pitching staff.

Still using the same old formula though. Dominant pitching and anemic hitting. This usually bites them in the playoffs.

They did have a strong showing against the Cardinals though. Enough to put LaRussa's panties in a bind.

Braves are always in the first place, except for when it really counts - in the post season :)

The Braves always start slow (especially their hitting the past few years). For them to be where they are at this point is great.

anemic hitting? i think that most of the lineup is hitting below their career averages so far this season. i wouldn't expect that to continue all season long.

by the end of the year, i wouldn't be surprised to see the braves Runs Scored to be top 10 NL.

this is how good the braves pitching is tho, Hampton and Thompson are #3 and #4, as well as those two have been pitching they could probably be 2's or 3's for most organizations. Ramirez is their #5. that's a pretty good number five.

Forget the braves, go white sox :D

Lets just see if the phenomenal pitching (minus shingo) holds up.

actually, the mets are pretty good this season. give Pedro some credit, he's given life to a practically dead franchise.

omar deserves some credit too of course.

Yeah, but it's the Mets. You know they'll blow it at some point. ;)

Yeah, but it's fun that way unlike the Braves blowing it in the postseason. It creates more excitement and you can even gamble with it! :D

The Astros are just awful. The Mets swept them at Shea and the Braves will complete the sweep tomorrow. What happened to them...
