Braun electric shaver question...

Anyone use the Braun Synchro series? The ones that have the self-cleaning mechanism?

Well I ran out of the stuff that it cleans itself in, but it seems like it's just rubbing alcohol. The refills are $10 for a 2 pack which seems rediculous if it really is just alcohol.

Anyone know if I could just pour some isopropyl in there or if I really need to plonk $10 for like 1 month of cleaner? :Q

Heh, a friend of mine was bitching about that a few months ago. It's supposed to help lubricate the shaver as well, so I don't know if pure alcohol would be a good idea.

perhaps if you mixed a little mineral oil (with aloe) in with the isopropyl and used very little of an agent like dish soap (to make them mix)...

something tells me you wouldn't want just plain alcohol to 'lubricate'.. that'd be like using water to lubricate a wrench

A blond matron using a Braun?

I use a Norelco on my neck and upper cheeks(the cheeks of my face).
About every three months I put the cutters in a cup with the oily type of isopropyl
and let them soak over night. Then I scrub the openings with an old tooth brush and
resume use. Works for me. Same cutting head in use five years now..🙂
