Yeah, the razor isn't cheap, but it's definitely worth it.

I got mine for that price from Amazon with a $50 gift card to Amazon, which I used to buy replacement foil/cutterblocks. They go on sale every once in a while...

I got my 8595 Braun shaver for fairly cheap on eBay I believe.
The only quarrel I have with it is it will not detect how dirty it is until I use it for more than 4 days. That is pretty damn ridiculous if I cannot clean my shaver out after every 2 or 3 uses... But then i don't know much hair like the average American or European.
<- Asian :D

The previous model was the 7680 I believe and I sold that to my dad/family. The only bad thing about the 7680 is the cleaning/recharge base might break and if it does you "won't" beable to clean the shaver properly anymore. I heard the spring on the locking-down-neck is the one at fault, but so far it has not broke. Also with the 7680 you can manually tell it to clean whenever you want it to as opposed to the 8595 where it has a sensor to tell with of the 3 cleaning cycles to use. Worthless since it keeps saying my shaver is clean even after 1-3 uses in a row!
The 8595 also doesn't have a fan to dry the head after it is done cleaning, but o well.
Ah one more thing, the older model also feels a bit better than the new one even though the new one has a completely different head foil. (New tech to shave more hair.)

If i had to choose between the new and old model I would go with the old model.

... what doesn't feel right about it? It does make sense to me. That said... I'll probably stick with the stuff from Braun, as I don't necessarily trust an alcohol mixture with the plastic on the razor.

What? Stop spreading lies. It all depends on your facial hair....or you don't know how to shave.

Unless I razor-shave against the grain (which you're NOT supposed to do), nothing tears up my face more than a shaver.
