True, but it's not really that bad. I've talked to people who are currently in Thailand and they have told me that the army is present to make sure no violence takes place between the red and yellow shirts.

I want to get my pic taken with an army person at one of the checkpoints.

Keep an eye on all of your stuff while down there and stay will a large group of friends when out & about. Brazil is the most thieving place I have ever been.

Not to worry, all of the criminals have been shipped out to the countryside where they can now steal from the villagers.
