Hello. I just bought a 32GB TDK USB Flash Drive. At least that's what it says on the outside and on the packaging, which does look genuine. However, under AIDA64, it says it's a Generic Flash Disk USB Device. My friend's 16 Kingston Data Traveler is identified as a Kingston Data Traveler 102 USB Device both under AIDA64 and Windows Explorer Properties. Should I be worried? Do brand-name flash drives have identifying tags like the Media IDs for optical discs?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Windows has a small list of device manufacturers it recognizes, and some USB devices will come with a small bit of driver installation information that gives it the name. But if it isn't there, it shouldn't be a problem. It should function as normal.

Try to actually write 32G to it. If it works and the data is doesn't get corrupted, I wouldn't worry.
