Apologies beforehand, I dont wish this to become a flame thread but I just want some info.
Im going to get an Nforce2 board in about 1 months time (so far it will be an EPoX 8RDA+ but subject to what happens over the time period). So I have 512mb PC2100 Crucial DDR which I'll test before passing it onto my dad
.
Since I dont fancy sticking pc2100 into my new board, what should I get?
I want 512mb and I wont be budged on my total. Im not really a fan of 2x256mb sticks but I've seen that some companies pair 2 good sticks together and sell them in what I'd term an 'overclocking pair'. Both sticks should 'roughly' hit the same point.
So far, Ive studied some prices and Corsair PC3200 looks totally unreasonable. TwinMOS looks reasonable and so does Crucial. If you want a list of a few of my suppliers in the UK, check here. They should have a reasonable mix, including Crucial, TwinMOS, Corsair, Samsung and probably a few more.
Im looking towards the fabled 200 fsb at decent timings for a decent price. I estimate that I'd have about £100 to spend on RAM at the very most.
I'll be looking forward to getting some replies in.
