Apologies beforehand, I dont wish this to become a flame thread but I just want some info.

Im going to get an Nforce2 board in about 1 months time (so far it will be an EPoX 8RDA+ but subject to what happens over the time period). So I have 512mb PC2100 Crucial DDR which I'll test before passing it onto my dad :).

Since I dont fancy sticking pc2100 into my new board, what should I get?

I want 512mb and I wont be budged on my total. Im not really a fan of 2x256mb sticks but I've seen that some companies pair 2 good sticks together and sell them in what I'd term an 'overclocking pair'. Both sticks should 'roughly' hit the same point.

So far, Ive studied some prices and Corsair PC3200 looks totally unreasonable. TwinMOS looks reasonable and so does Crucial. If you want a list of a few of my suppliers in the UK, check here. They should have a reasonable mix, including Crucial, TwinMOS, Corsair, Samsung and probably a few more.

Im looking towards the fabled 200 fsb at decent timings for a decent price. I estimate that I'd have about £100 to spend on RAM at the very most.

I'll be looking forward to getting some replies in.

Peoples favourite - GENERIC :D - 2x256mb pc3200 CL2.5 - £56!!!! - If i wasnt overclocking..... then I might :D

Geil - I cannot find anywhere
Crucial - Not *very* expensive - 2x256mb PC3200 CL2.5 = £90 - Free shipping also - Very happy with my 512mb pc2100 and their delivery (delivered within about 18 hours of ordering, woke me up at 7:30am though :()
Kingston KingMax - 2x256mb PC3200 CL2.5 - no PCB colour info - Says its 'KingMax' - £88
OCZ - 2x256mb PC3200 CL 2 - £115 - bit expensive for my tastes - Id rather go Crucial over this stuff
Corsair TWINX and XMS - WAY overpriced - not even going to bother to type it out
TwinMOS - Linkified - Take a look - Is this the miracle stuff? - it looks insanely dirt cheap - maybe cheap enough for 2x512mb

This was a quick check on some RAM and prices... advice based upon my prefered budget (£100 for 512mb) and the price of the ram appreciated.

regarding the twinmos ram, am i right in assuming it is the modules with wonbond chips that are good and the ones with twinmos chips arent so hot?

if so, can anyone advise where to get the twinmos/winbond pc3200 chips in UK?

thanks

I got some kingston with my 2.4B :) Needless to say i got it up to 3.2Ghz so I'd say its a good overclocking ram.

Since Im from the UK, of course I can :)

Here. This is the supplier selling TwinMOS/Winbond DDR. DIRT CHEAP compared to most other brands tbh. £64 for 2 256mb sticks @ PC3200 :)
