Brand new PC build, Windows XP Pro won't boot

I just built a new PC using an Abit IT7 mother board, P4 1.8A, 512MB Kingston DDR RAM, Maxtor 40GB 7200 HDD. I have the Win XP Pro version that I bought through the hot deals on AT for around $50 so it is the legal version. When I try to boot it looks like it willl install the OS and asks if I agree to terms. But when I try to accept agreement it does not do anything.

I'm very new to this PC building thing and this was my first build, and this is not helping any. Please if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

This is everything:

Maxtor 40GB 7200 RPM HDD
(2) Kingston 256 DDR Ram PC2100
Cendyne 32x12x40x CDRW
Logitech Z 340 Speakers
Buslink 16x DVD
Logitech Opitcal Mouse
Viewsonic 19" A90F Monitor
Intel P4 1.8A CPU
Abit IT7 Max Motherboard
Antec SX835II Case
Gainward GeForce 4 MX 420 64MB DDR with TV-Out

There's been a few of us that have been unable to install XP on a system with a GF4 card on the system. For example, in my case, I had to install a GF2 I still have to get the OS to install. Not saying this is your problem, but something you might want to look at.

Other than that, only have the HDD, the CD drive, memory, and the vid card in (unplug everthing else) and see what that does for you (if you haven't tried that already, and I'm assuming you have).

Maybe that is the cure for my problem. I have just upgraded to a GF4 and was trying to reinstall WinXP pro and it just hangs. Hmmm gonna try that.

When I installed my GF4 it hung and I would keep reseting it. Finally I just walked away for about 5 min when it was a black screen, came back and all was well with the install.
