My P4B533-V will not boot or post
I have nothing pluged in except the CPU and the mobo to the PSU, I am using the onboard video but same problems happens when I stick the Ti500 in the AGP slot.

When I put the DDR in the system it turns on (fans spinning) and then it all just shuts down. Green light on mobo is still on
When I pull the DDR out of the system it turns on (fans spinning) and runs but nothing comes up on the screen.
When I put the DDR into any of the oter DIMM slots same problem.
When I put the the DDR into my roommates Athlon system. the system boots fine.
When I put his DDR into my system I get the same problem on the P4B533-V.

HELP!!!

check your wiring it maybe as simple as the power led hdd wires not plugged right

since everything else has been tried did you clear the cmos?

but my bet is the above listed wiring

hope this helps

No what I mean by the green led is the led on the 533-v. the 533-v has an LED on it that tells you if it is in soft boot mode.

shouldn't it boot w/o the case led and buttons pluged in?

my 2.4 wouldn't so yours may not and they had to be hooked up right ymmv

you may also find it won't boot without a floppy installed but that only happened to me on an older system
again ymmv

if that doesn't fix it and youve tried reseating everything and the motherboard is seated (so it isn't shorting out)then i would rma the motherboard but its usually the simple stuff i overlook

hope this helps

yep that was it. And the manual and mobo don't sync. I had to actualy read the printong on the mobo, I think the manual was wrong.

Now XP wont start. Says I need to remove my recently installed drive controller?

huh?

yea it boots and posts now. Just had to plug in HD LED, Power switch, and Reset. Then worked fine! yipee

RE the Win XP. XP installed overitself. Had to call MS to reverify XP. However, now whenever I shut down explorer hangs and I have to end it manualy
