Brand new MOBO/CPU DEAD =((( HELP!!

Argh!!

Abit, IT7-MAX and it doesnt seem to work. I put in my brand new P4 2.26ghz processor and it instantly shows 'FF' on the status led, any suggestions???

The common things are cpu, video adapter, or memory not fully seated, MB shorting out to case because of spacer.
 
I seated the cpu vid and memory (and reseated, several times) and tried running it outside my case...
 
Same as bdog231...have an 8KHA+ and my first CPU was no good...

Bought mine from NewEgg, and they replaced it with no questions asked.

Hopefully, you got yours from a good retailer.
 
Bought the mobo from newegg and cpu from googlegear...they should be ok...but it seems to be working now, on a friends computer

i messed around with it for a long time and it finally showed something other than FF and finally sent some video output, not sure what did it, but its reporting the cpu as a 1.7ghz....anyway, i hope it gets better when I get home 🙂
