Brand New Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer not working right

Hey,

I just bought a brand new Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer for 50 bucks, and really love the feel of it, but it doesn't seem to be working quite right. Every once in a while my mouse pointer will freeze. The wireless receiver is less than a foot away when it is happening and it has new batteries in it.

Does anyone know the reason for this, as I would like to keep the mouse.
 
try moving the reciever a little further back. also... i had some wierd problems like that before too and i just had to mess around with the angle between the mouse and reciever (i was sitting on my bed and trying to control my divx box outputting to me tv).
