Hi guys and gals, just wondering if you could tell me of any incompatibilties between any of these componants i.e. Mobo - psu compatibility and mobo - ram problems. As they are for a friend and I would hate for him to have to suffer the agony of sending things back. 🙂

Asus A8N-SLi nForce4 SLi (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-101-AS)

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 90nm (Socket 939) - OEM

Corsair 1GB DDR XMS3200C2 Pro TwinX (2x512MB) CAS2

Akasa AK-859 Copper CPU Cooler (Socket 754 & 939)

Tagan TG480-U01 480W ATX2.0 SLi Compliant Silent PSU

XFX GeForce PCX6600 GT Extreme Gamers Edition 128MB DDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)

Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 10 NCQ 160GB 6B160MO SATA 8MB Cache

Thanks in advance legion . Have a nice day or night.

ok im guessing thats a 'yep sounds good' or something along the lines of.... Hopefully. 🙂
The fast reply is much appreciated dude or dudet, means i can get to ordering those components . Thanks again.

Looks good!

The 3000+ Venice core is a steal right now. Definitely the P/P champion.

Any particular reason to settle for 6600GT when the 6800's are getting so cheap?

This is I would do:

1. Go with 1 gig PQI PC3200 for $72. This will substantially lower the cost of ram and you will lose maybe 2% performance. Even better, get 2 gigs of this.

2. Scrap SLI motherboard. If you are getting 6600 series cards, SLI is 100% waste of money. Get DFI Ultra-D for $129. This saves you $35 on the motherboard.

3. I'd probably look into the Hot Deals section on this site to see if they have any mail-in-rebate deals on hard drives. Otherwise WD WD1600JS(160gb) seems to be better than even maxtor diamondmax 10 300gb. So it'll be faster than the 160gb version u picked. Review

4. Take the savings from 1 and 2 and get X800XL for $249

5. I'd probably stick with stock cooling since it's good enough to propel you to 2.6ghz if the chip can handle it.

6. Also there are a lot of power supplies very close to the price range of the one you are getting on Newegg for $5-10 more.

OCZ 420 Powerstream with adjustable rails and 5 year warranty at atacom.com, Antec truepower 550 on newegg, enermax 495.

7. Case, DVD-writer, monitor?
