A friend of mine is having the following issues with his new monitor - it's a Sony M81B. Can anybody please post some ideas....

OK I got my LCD yesterday...I think you may have seen the post...and I hook it up and the damn thing looks like a pin stripe suite. I got vertical lines going down it. I downloaded a new driver for my video card and that fixed it temporarily. It looked great for a while and then today when I turned it on it came back..I tried to adjust the pitch and phase on it and it didn't do much good. Do you think that it maybe related to the computer or the lcd. Any suggestions?

So - any suggestions. All help is much appreciated!

Hmm, never having actually been around an LCD for that long, my help is somewhat limited.

Anyway, that is odd if the drivers fixed it temporarily. I know that Acer says if you have stripes to send it back. I think this is a monitor problem. I have read that an LCD uses little almost wires going up and down for the screen, and if these get broken somehow (dropping it etc) then the stripes may appear.

Try on a dif. computer
Sounds like something is loose, wiggle it around, push on the LCD bezel

Are you running your LCD at its native resolution? Also, as others suggested, check your cables.

I'm not sure about the answer to the question about the native resolution. Hopefully he'll show up here and give some feedback. Thanks for all the suggestions - any others?

I'm sure you already know that lcd's install at default 60HZ, then you bump to 70 or 72 in disply
the big ones go up to 75HZ

try rotating it to see if youre getting inteference from something

sure sounds like a loose or bad vid cable
