I just got my new comp from HypersonicPC about a week ago, and the thing is running very hot. Its a P4 1.7(NOT Overlocked) on an ASUS P4T with GeForce3 and according to the BIOS the CPU is at 50C in Windows and about 55Cafter playing Tribes2 for a while! I havnt had a lockups and its under warrenty and everything for two years, but is that normal or an exeptable temp? I have alot of fans in there and a fatty heatsink so im not sure what I could do to lower the temp much more. And the ironic thing is I got an Intel partly because they ran cooler LOL...

OEM Machines are known for being very hot, they are usually kept within the spec of the processor though. I would say, if it really bothers you, put in higher CFM fans, a better HSF, and generally improve the cooling system. I personally wouldnt bother, if you have a 2 year warranty, it will either be long dead by then, and you can replace it, or if it reaches the 2 year goal, it will last a long time (I suspect the second).
