Hey guys, the epox 8rga+ and 1700+ I ordered arrived yesterday from newegg, and I went to install them today. I got everything set up and turned it on but I can't get any video output. Everything else sounds like its working, the fans start going and the on board nic lights up, but there's no output to the monitor. I read on the internet that it might be the processor so I tried my old 1800+(that I know works fine) and that didn't work. I originally had 2x256mb pc2700 samsung chips in there but I thought it may be the ram so I took them out and tried a single 256mb pc2700 elixir chip but that still didn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

All I have in there is a liteon 32x cd writer, maxtor 120 gig hard drive, on board video sound and lan. I don't have any expansion cards installed.

I read on anoter forum that someone else had this problem and he installed a 1.4ghz t-bird and that worked, then he updated the bios and that made his 2200+ chip work. Would a 1ghz(100 mhz bus) t-bird work in this computer? Is it worth a try?

Thanks for any advice,
Kevin

Try holding down the Insert key before and during power-up, and see how it likes that. Also, do you have your secondary power plug attached to the mobo, the four-pin one? And what power supply are you using?

Hey, nope don't have the secondary plug attached and I'm using a 350 watt antec power supply.

Ok, try plugging in the secondary power. Nice choice of PSUs, good to know we're not dealing with generic here :)

Regarding your earlier question, your older CPU sure will work. If it's a 100MHz-bus CPU, then change the JCLK jumper that's next to the northbridge heatsink to 100MHz (pull the cap off it, if I recall correctly). Good luck!

I would check your cables. You may have one backwards. Also check the jumper settings on your hardrives. I always use master-slave settings.
