brand new build, random bsods

I built a new system on Friday, and generally speaking everything seems to be working fine - except I've gotten 5 bsods since then. I can't seem to reproduce them, they seem to happen randomly. I've run memtest for 8+ hours, prime95 for several hours, updated my mobo bios and the firmware on my ssd, rechecked all the connections and seatings. Not sure what else to do here. Nothing is overclocked yet, and temps have all looked fine (cpu 30-35 idle 60-65 load, graphics card 41-42/70 load).

I also have the minidump files if that would help. I'm a little out of my element here so any help would be greatly appreciated. My parts:

Using BlueScreenView it looks like they were all caused by driver dxgkrnl.sys, does that mean it's video card related?

Some things to try:

- Remove 7850 and use the Intel GPU from your 3770k
- Try using only 1 or 2 sticks of ram and also try running it at a lower speed
- Reset bios to defaults
- Disable on-board devices like the sound card
- Try a different power supply if one is available
- Update all drivers, not just your video card ones if you haven't
- Set your power profile to max performance and disable all power saving settings in the bios

Good luck

I would use it in safe mode for awhile. If no BSOD turns up then use selective start up eliminating drivers (eg, safe mode/msconfig). And yes Id start with video. If it turns up video, you might look in the BIOS for video parameter change selections (including things in the power management related to video), and try some setting modifications. Otherwise, it might be easier to just use a different brand/model graphics.

Not a fan of that power supply. Anyway, I would recommend you pull out all your RAM except 1 stick and run it a few days. Rinse repeat for each stick. I have a hunch its a stick or two.

I agree with Power Hour. I've had systems pass MemTest and other ram testers just fine and I discovered the culprit was still a bad ram stick.

Running Windows Ultimate x64, just the one 7850 video card. I tried an older version of the video card drivers but just got another bsod so it wasn't that. Currently have the card completely removed from the system and running off the on-board gpu (as per kami's advice), I'll see how that goes for the next couple days. I suppose next I'll try the ram thing if I still get a crash, although that will be a pain as I have to take my heatsink off to even get to it.

If it does turn out to be the video card I'll probably just get a nvidia card to make sure I don't run into the same driver/card issues again.
