"hey...you getting this all on film?"
"shut up!"

LOL, the dad would have killed the lot of them if he knew it would be posted on youtube.

Dad's fault, really. A 14 year old who'd never driven stick before can't be expected to handle anything with a lot of horsepower. He panicked, didn't know how to stop, and the rest is history.

The car will probably be OK...that looked like a cheap garage back, no real structure to it.

I haven't driven a stick in about 10 years but how did the car keep moving? Wouldn't it have just stalled and died after a couple of feet?

Well, it's got a powerful engine with a lot of torque, and it sounded like the kid was hitting the gas at least a little when he dumped the clutch.

He probably panicked looking for the brake.

Tell him to STFU. Tell him I'm going to come beat his ass if he disrespects one more time.

Edit: Also, why is it "soooo bad" when somebody wrecks a brand new really expensive car? If somebody payed $50,000 for it...I doubt the expenses to fix it are really much of anyones concern.

For the same reason that it's "soooo bad" when a particularly hot girl becomes a teenage mother... some things are simply never the same, even after you throw a lot of money at them.

It's a matter of principle, really.

Depends on who fixes the damage. It could look better than new.

i doubt the parking break would have helped...it depends on how high the car was idling when cranked...

what happened:
kid pushes clutch in (cant start a manual unless the clutch is in, sometimes u can do it in neutral, but it wouldnt be N ...because, well duh, it wouldnt move)
kid starts car
kid lets go of clutch
usually, the car will hop and die
but...for one reason or another (maybe the stupid kid was pushing the gas too?) the car was idling high enough for it to move...
get gets scared, somehow forgets where break is...

the PB MIGHT have helped..doubtfull though

this is why when i had a manual i put it in 3rd, not first...its not going anywhere unless someone holds the gas down all the way, even then it would be slow :p

anywho, the dad is completely retarded...the kid is pretty stupid...i suppose the apple doesnt fall far from the tree :p

edit:
after review the video a few times, i found u can distincly here the kid panic and hit the gas instead of the break...
whats funnier, is apparently some kids bike was in the abck of the garage and it got ******...listen to the kid at the end "john, dont worry, u will get a new bilke"...
also, the car is pretty fvked...if you look one of the last frames, you will see the garage is up a little on about 1/2-1ft of concrete...the front is hanging off...the bottom has to be all scraped up...k-member, engine mounts, tranny, rack & pinion...all fcked...this kid would be toast if i were his dad...boarding school the next day...but then again, if i were his dad i wouldnt let him have the keys in the first place

I can name more than a few cars with salvage titles that I've driven, which might've looked new but never rode quite right. ;)
