I just picked up one in weekend. It's Delta brand, same as my "free" CD-ROM. The box shows nothing about software player, but there is a CD inside, which is full version of winDVD, even support Win2K.

The price was $99. You should be able to find some coupon to reduce the price.

According DVDinfo 1.1, it is regional free.

I got mine at B&M, too lazy to apply coupon, but I did see a CL MP3 5.1 for $79 there.

There is a $30 off $100 coupon out there. I'll save the $30 if I were you.

Why can't you post this 3 days earlier? :(

Order a 8X OEM w/NO software, not even the cable from CXXXXGeeks for $70 after shipping!!!!!!!!!!

Check those deal sites, you should be able to find the coupon.

Well, I did not check the coupon either. That was a busy weekend, besides the DVD rom, I got a Compaq monitor, some RAMs, a DVD player, and etc. Too many deals around here. :D

I got a video card with TV-out (so I can watch those mpeg-4, asf, real video movies on my big screen TV), I only need a bare driver. Since we are talking about TV-out here, we must need some cables, I will post an A/V cable deal, after I receive mine. ;)

Another good site is Digital Digest. Most (if not all) of the software DVD player are not freeware. Of course, you may find a place to download them, but not on the sites listed here.

And, faint, I searched on amazon many times for DVD ROM, that Que was not there. I got a Que CDRW, maybe I should get a Que DVD to match it. And a DVD/CDRW combo only costs around $200, while I paid $160 for my CDRW.

Now, amazon has a $60 CDRW, and this $100 DVD. faint again.
