Hi. I'm upgrading my dad's computer to an Athlon system for him, and I've been looking on newegg for mobos under $90. I'll be buying something that will not be overclocked, and there's no need for fancy-pants add-ons like RAID, integrated ethernet, etc. All that I'm interested in is a solid board that won't crap out for a number of years, as well as a reputable brand name that will provide good support and warranty service should the need ever arise. In all likelihood, this board will be used with the same processor and memory until its last dying days, when *everything* will be upgraded, all at the same time. That is, I'm not looking for anything that'll be able to handle whatever the next big thing will be.

As it is, I'm considering either the EPoX EP-8K3AE, the Abit KX7-333, or the MSI KT3 Ultra2(6380E-050). Are there any notable differences between these boards? Or should I just go with the EPoX simply because it's slightly cheaper than the other two? Are there any other boards that come highly recommended that I should consider?

Thanks for the input.

Heh. Naturally it's out of stock right now. :( I guess that's why I didn't see it when I was browsing through their selection.
Thanks, I'll use Newegg's handy-dandy auto-notify.

Looks like a board that will satisfy my needs as well, I've been looking for a low cost workhorse board to update from an Asus A7A running a Duron 900 for a while.

How high a processor speed will this board support, and how finicky is it about RAM (shouldn't be an issue, I use Crucial).
What kind of quality does the onboard sound offer (compared to a SB Live! 5.1)?
And how troublesome is the board when it comes to disabling the onboard sound and/or video?
I've never worked with an mATX board before, any real issues dropping it into my ATX case?

If this fits my needs I might manage to get to an XP 2000+ and a GF4 for ~$300 total, a great system boost for cheap.
