I just bought a Compaq Presario with the 3 year extended accidental protection plan.

I'd like to get your stories with customer service and support with any brand name companies. That means your experience with Dell, Compaq, IBM. Keep this thread to actual stories & experiences only. Please do not post comments like "(NameBrand) is simply the best, you can't go wrong with them!!!". It doesn't help anyone learn more about that particular company.

 
Dell Support, at least in India, is excellent. I have the Next Business Day On Site service, and I get an engineer with new parts at my doorster usually within 48 hours of reporting the problem.
 
My old Gateway notebook was not getting electricity. I called GW tech-support, told them how I troubleshooted, and I need to use the notebook asap for school. They shipped the new powersupply overnight, free of charge.
What really impressed me was that after I told them I could not find the purchase receipt, and I was sure that my one year warranty had expired, they extended my warranty for 1 month.
I may not be a big fan of branded notebooks but their service is worth considering.

I've had to call them 2 times for issues with my laptop.
The first time was simply because the svideo out wouldn't work so after 3 or so hrs of trying various things they decided to send a replacement mobo out. It arrived in 2 days later and a tech came out to install it. Tech gets here and it turns out that they sent a 600m mobo (I had an I1100 at the time). They sent the correct one out next day and the tech was back out that very day to get it installed.
Then I had to call them because my lil bro busted the screen on it. After talking to 3 different people and getting them to realize that I did indeed have complete care on the laptop, they sent out the lcd. Tech came out next day and installed it (they ended up sending out an entire bezel, lcd, and hinge setup since so many techs were busting the little plastic clips on the bezel).
I'm very satisfied with the results, which is why I replaced my I1100 and desktop pc with an I6000 and 700m (both with complete care of course).
