And a few days later they were making a noise so he apperantly came back and put brake grease on the front / back of rotors and now a week later they are squaling / grinding again ?

Now I have done a brake job in many moons but never heard of this practice, anyone else heard / done this ?

Are you referring to anti squeal? It goes on the clips of the pads, not the rotors.

He's probably refering to putting anti-squeal compound on the brake pad backs. I would be horrified if you actually mean what you just said. The grinding/squeeling sound can be attributed to a lot of things.

1. When he did the brake job was a full one done like change brake pads and rotors or at least turn the old rotors.

2. What type of pads were used (cheap inexpensive one's)

3. Were anti-rattle clips used or neccessary.

I would imagine he didn't put it on the rotors. Like the above posters mentioned, you can put anti-squeal lube, or I use synthetic grease on the back of the pads, but certainly not on the discs themselves.
