Hmm... this is intriguing. So I was surfing through some blogs the other day, and I come upon this program called BrainWave Generator. The premise of the program is to play two tones of differing frequencies (i.e. left channel is 440hz and right channel is 450hz). When played through headphones, the two tones mix to produce essentially a 10hz tone. Now, supposedly, when the 10hz tone is applied to the brain for some time, the brain frequency changes to the 10hz tone. This allows for easy relaxation and "forced" deep sleep. Would this work?

Here is the LINK if anyone wants the source.

Comments/insights?

I tried using Sleep Reducer and it *SEEMS* to work... not sure about variables though, i.e. how tired i am the preceding day, exactly how much sleep i get, etc... also, i'm not sure if "meditating with the preset" means "falling asleep with the preset on"...

If anything, it's a good white noise generator.

We do know some things about how brain wave patterns change depending no the activity, but claiming to be able to alter that ourselves is a whole other thing.
